Coding for Interaction
Get ready for an exciting, hands on coding workshop where you will have the opportunity to sit down at the computer and learn Javascript and SCRATCH!
This workshop will be led by STEAM: CODERS, who's aim is to inspire students and families through the fundamentals of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) by unlocking the potential of each participant through an innovative and enjoyable curriculum focused on critical thinking, access to opportunities, and attainable pathways to academic and career success. Money Matters
It is important to make money, but even more important to know how to manage it! The Money Matters workshop is going to teach you some valuable lessons in money management to help you set a solid financial foundation.
Spotlight on Mental Health
Join us for a presentation on the important, yet rarely discussed, topic of mental health. This workshop will focus on mental health as it affects the college population and women of color. Stephanie Beverly-Smith of Women of Color will lead this session and provide essential information that you can bring home with you for future reference.
Money Matters
Parents, be sure to bring your pens and paper because you'll want to take notes at this one. Tracy Haraskin, Financial Specialist from Pacific Advisors, is going to give you the scoop on managing your finances. This workshop promises to provide you with insight that you've likely never thought about before in regards to making your money REALLY work for you. And don't be shy -- bring your questions! Tracy is a wealth of knowledge and definitely someone you'll want to have in your corner.

Panel: Preparing for College
Before we know it, the students attending the Youth Symposium will be heading off to college. However, there are many steps that they, and their parents, must take to ensure that they are prepared. Join us for a panel discussion, with representation from a college counselor, engineering program director, college prep consultants and more.
